The Life Unit is a non-profit organization that focuses on pre-entry, re-entry, and direct intervention work. We are dedicated to connecting people with the knowledge and resources to support individuals impacted by incarceration. Founded by a formerly incarcerated individual who believes in second chances, The Life Unit stands out in the space of re-entry and intervention work by embracing diversity with a team made up of people from different backgrounds and races. Our website serves as a valuable resource to showcase our unique approach and provide support to those in need.

Our Mission and Approach
Our Programming & Facilitation Services
At the core of our mission, The Life Unit directly creates, provides, and facilitates evidence-based programming designed to transform institutional culture and stabilize communities. Our specialized curriculum and facilitation tracks include:
Reentry Programming:
Briefly describe your degree and any other highlights about your studies you want to share. Be sure to include relevant skills you gained, accomplishments you achieved or milestones you reached during your education.
Correctional Staff Consulting:
Mindset and trauma-informed proximity workshops tailored for facility leadership and line officers to improve workplace morale, reduce burnout, and reshape institutional culture.
Youth-Based & Diversion Programs:
Culturally responsive, trauma-informed intervention models—such as the Second Chance Path—developed specifically to redirect the lives of young people and offer an alternative pathway to incarceration through the courts.
Pre & Post-Incarceration Preparation:
Proactive curriculum built to address cognitive behavioral changes, accountability, and practical preparedness both behind the walls and during the critical transition back into society.

"Collaboration is key when building a network focused on change."
